Precambrian Era- 4.6 Billion Years Ago- 543 Million Years Ago. Also the nicknamed Beginning of Time. Somethings were different then today like the climate. The climate for Precambrian Era changed from very hot to extremely cold sometimes daily. Suprisely it was the coldest near the equator. Also another interesting fact about climate is that near the North and South poles, the temperatures were always changing. Another change between now and then was the continents. They were not in the same shape of today they were extremely irregular shapes. Also the continents were not all the same as today. Another thing is they were not all spread out as we have today. The continents were all joined together. They were in a line to the west of the Prime Meridian and screeches from the South Pole to the North Pole.
The main animals were bacteria and organisms like the cyanobacteria which means blue-green algae. Life in the Precambrian Era was tiny just bacteria and some organisms. It started 4 billion years ago. That was 600,000 years after the Earth started. The very first organisms and bacteria were microscopic that means you could not see it unless it was under a microscope. Later on in the era there was multicelled animals like the ediacaran which appeared 600 million years ago. The plant life was even smaller than animal life. There was only simple plants the formed because the bacteria found new food because the sun started the process of photosynthesis. In conclusion the animal and plant life was very small.
After all of the new animal and plant life something tragic happened. At the of the Precambrian Era there was a world wide extinction that killed 99% of plant and animal life. It was extremely devastating but soon enough more animals will roam and more plants will grow and be food for some.
